Anjouan leader flees "dressed as woman" - gov't
MORONI, March 25 (Reuters) - The leader of the rebel island of Anjouan has disguised himself as a woman and is trying to flee by boat after an African Union-backed assault by the national army, the Comoros government said on Tuesday.

"Colonel Mohamed Bacar has been spotted in the village of Sadanpoini where he is heading without doubt for a place to flee on board a kwassa (small canoe) towards Mayotte island," government spokesman Abdourahim Said Bacar said.
"It seems, according to various sources, that he is dressed as a woman."
